London’s first walk-in centre promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle opened in November.

The Green Living Centre in Islington, a cross between a museum and an advice shop, is where residents can find out how to save energy, recycle more and reduce their carbon emissions.

Staff also provide information on everything about living sustainably, from how to get a grant for a solar panel to wildlife gardening.

Lucy Watt, Islington’s executive member for environment said: “We’ve all seen the effects of climate change.? With the Green Living Centre, we’re saying ‘think global, act local’ because it’s the little changes we can all make that will safeguard the environment foe future generations”
