This headline -? Summer Promises to be a Scorcher-, was a recent offering in the Daily Express. This got me thinking again - dangerous!

If there is a scorcher of a summer there will almost certainly be an increase in the ocurrence of skin cancer.? To illustrate just how dangerous hot sun can be, consider this.? For the last 10 years there has been a growing increase in the instances of skin cancer in BLACK South Africans.? In other words even those born with more protective chemical in their skin than whites are not even safe.

So we must “Slip, Slap,Slop” with protective sun products particularly taking care of our children.? Now a warning to cash-strapped Mums.? Don’t buy special offer sun products without checking the sell by date or the SPF.? Stick to the highest SPF you can find from a brand you trust and dump it when summer is over.
