It seem odd to me that after watching a TV programme on the decommissioning of Calder Hall,  the world beating nuclear reactor that was a British ‘First’,  that this is yet another race we have lost.

Partly because of the ‘nibmby’ attitude of the prospective neighbours to alternative energy generation systems we have played back into the arms of the nuclear industry. It would not be quite such a bitter pill if it was the UK that was going to build these reactors. But, NO, France, Germany and even Spain are in the running, no mention of the UK!

Never mind I expect Russia will put in a bid next week anyway.
