British Energy Forced to cut Training Times in Half

This is because of an acute shortage of staff 40% retiring in the next 10 years. Surely they knew this would happen? What ever happened to forward planning? (My comment)

Documents seen by TheTimes show that some of the group’s programmes to train staff to “Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel” level - a benchmark industry training standard set by the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate are to be trimmed from 18 months to 9 months.

On 28th November British Energy unveiled plans to build a new generation of UK nuclear power stations.
