What a day, had dinner then went to the kitchen turned on the tap. It came off in my hand with the water full on. I heaved everything out from the cupboard under the sink, but couldn’t turn the stop cock to turn the water off.  Thank heavens that the overflow wasn’t blocked!

So I got a hammer and hit the tap gently – I didn’t break it off, but moved the tap slightly. Next came a large pair of pliers.  Slowly, very slowly I managed to tun the water off.

Next, ever tried to get a plumber on a Sunday evening?  I swallowed my pride and asked my neighbour to help.

These taps are only a year old.  The guy that fitted them put a screw in crookedly and this had caused the trouble.

I then sat down and had a glass of brandy and several chocolates -do you blame me?
