The Loring simply  screams  usability. We realized that many of our competitors  were starting  to market  more  commuting  models, but  very few were devoting  design and engineering reserves  to the project. They would usually  repurpose  existing products  as their latest  commuter .

We needed to bring  our  attention for our commuter  bikes  to detail and engineering to transportation that was being  given  to road and mountain bikes .

Our product design progression  starts out with  characterize who the potential user is will be and identifying  their needs. With the  Civia Loring , we expect the rider  being a person  that is cycling between 2 and 5 miles or just out and about enjoying the day. The user will probably want to be able to carry  things  with them without having to make plans for such an eventuality. This is also  a bike  that will be able to  be used  as a family bicycle  with many  riders .

Using this a base, we developed  this bike  with a comfortable , upright seating position, a useful, superbly  balanced front basket, a 2  leg kickstand for a steady stance while loading  and gave the frame plenty of standover height for simple  on and off. We wanted to do something   fun with the features , so we went with  bamboo for the racks’ decking in addition to the bamboo fenders. The eclectic look of the  Loring and the bamboo have definitely  drawn it to  people’s  attention

Our undertaking  to design  a bicycle  fender with pleasing  lines, superb  function  and natural good looks took us all the way to the lush bamboo forests of Taiwan lead our search half way round the world to Taiwan and their extensive bamboo forests . Bamboo is amongst  the quickest  growing woody plants on the planet, bamboo  makes  a great substitute  to plastic. With a satin polyurethane coating  to guard them against the elements, these flat-bladed fenders are wonderful spray guards. While  no fender will prevent  you from getting wet in a the rain, they’ll assist in keeping your clothes dry while you ride along  wet pavements .
