Ah well, the Govenment have sold yet another piece of the family silver!? On 23rd April I wrote about the fact that our nuclear power industry was virtually up for grabs.? Well, the Russians didn’t get the contract. (After last night’s programme on the aftermath at Chernobil thank heavens they didn’t).

The prize goes to jointly to E.ON, the major German Utility giant, Arvena the French nuclear power group and German engineering firm Siemens.? The French will collaberate with the Germans on R&D. Lets hope this alliance works within the ethos of the EC and not like the? previous time when the 3 countries met on far less favourable terms.
