As reported by the Daily Telegraph, PC World are going for a zero Carbon option. This prototype computer is made from wood & Alluminium. Does this remind you of something you used in infants school and the Chinese still use now? No, it isn’t an abacus. In fact the prototype looks very stylish.
Computers are one of the most energy intensive machines in the household, costing about £40 in energy bills each year to run. PC World says its machine, which will retail at £599, will cut that bill to as little as £12.
Now PC World polish their Corporate halos! The computers carbon footprint is reduced by 85%. To reduce it too zero, the company will undertake “offsetting” schemes in the Third World, such as installing solar panels to help power wells.
